Welcome to Mission Hills

Every Sunday, we open our gatherings with a welcome reading that sets our intention and acknowledges the complexities of a liturgical service. We want to recognize that we all bring unique expectations for what we want “church” to be like, feel like, sound like, etc. because we all come from different religious backgrounds and experiences. We also realize that on any given Sunday we arrive from different mental, emotional, and spiritual places. Some of us have had great weeks, and for others, the worst imaginable. Our hope is to acknowledge these tensions rather than ignore them so that we can create a bit more grace and love where we each are.

Welcome to Mission Hills

May we create brave space for each other because we recognize that this will be a vulnerable and imperfect gathering.

We are invited

to be honest,

to not take ourselves too seriously,

to respect all,

to find peace,

to be challenged,

and to experience love,

in order that we may be transformed by an encounter with grace to go into our weeks and live well.
